To be in compliance with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Board of Directors has made the following changes to our Criminal Background Check System, effective 12/7/2015:
- We will no longer use the Little League Criminal Check System run by First Advantage as it is NOT in compliance with the new Pennsylvania Law.
- All volunteers MUST use the Criminal AND Child Abuse Background Check System as outlined in this document.
- Once they are completed, you MUST submit copies to Lehigh for our records. We will require both the PATCH and the Child Abuse Clearance records. These records are good for 60 months, so they do not have to be run on a yearly basis. It only takes about 30 minutes to complete both submissions and they are FREE to volunteers.
- An FBI Fingerprint Check may be required by the Commonwealth if you have not lived in PA for the past, consecutive 10 years. There is a fee for this report and you must go to the appropriate fingerprinting station.
- If you have done this background check for work (teacher, etc), or as a school volunteer, we CAN accept a copy of that record.
- Please submit all documentation at ONE time.
- Lehigh will no longer collect personal information, nor will Lehigh run any background checks.
It is imperative that you get these background checks done as soon as possible. The season is fast approaching.
